Waiting like everyone else. There are a few things that do not make sence in the article as the Alpha platform change over is currently speculated to be in the range of 2015. So if the car is coming in 2012 - then it would be on Zeta and likely with the engine everybody wants. 556HP Caddy power.

Detail looks like a lift from the camaro5 website.

Maybe they'll get this one right. How could they retro style without giving the RS hideaway headlights? It would have been a hit. Ford got it right with the mustang (T-bird was a disappointment), Dodge got it right with the Challenger but Chev could have done alot better with the Camaro.

I still know some people working in Oshawa. I'll do some snooping and see what they have to say. Most of this stuff has a fairly long lead time, so parts are in the plant long before production actually begins. Changing platforms would be a MAJOR model change which probably wouldn't happen for another 3-4 years.

Based on what I've read the new, anticipated Camaro platform, Alpha, is to be smaller and lighter than the current Zeta one. I am very glad about that. It is not anticipated until the 2015 model year (which means probably a 2014 release date for the new 6th gen Camaro).

Got this back from a friend in GM Oshawa.
Hey Keith .... I heard talk of 520HP which was maybe 20HP less than available in the corvette. I don't really know what is coming for HP but did hear the Z28 is coming and it will have slightly less than the corvette. Either way, it is enough to get in trouble fast!!

Cool news and all but this does this mean the Z-28 will carry the highest HP available in a Camaro...unlike the good ol' days when the SS was the top o' the heap!?

Do you actually think that the top brass know or care anything about cars from the sixties. They are only interested in making cars appealling to today's buyers. We are a minority. Everything backwards as usual.

No the brass doesn't give a s#i+ (which is part of the reason for the failure of the North American automobile manufacturing) but target-buyer groups aside, it'd be interesting to know the average age of those who've actually bucked-up and are new Camaro owners?.
Anyone I know that has one or drivers I've seen on the road are all guys our age...the grey hair or no hair guys!.
