Quart? Gallon?
Going to be a pretty limited market. I have seen yellow paint and beige paint that darken considerably over time, even when not opened. Less likely with a full can, but still possible. If you had two gallons, you could probably get a premium for it. If there is not enough to do a whole car, not many guys are going to pay big bucks for a can of something that may not even be a match. Last year on the hamb, a guy was asking $375 per gallon for unopened old school Dupont black lacquer. He had two cans. Six years ago, I paid $100 for a gallon of PPG black lacquer. I realize I did not answer your question with the above. What would I ask? Probably $200 if it is a gallon. If I were buying, and were not local to you, I would ask you do put a few drops on a card and mail it to me so I could verify a color match.

The person just wants to display it with the car seems like a waste

Ralph, a gallon of today's paint in that color is going to cost way more than $200.00.
