Nice to see a post on this, I grew up about 15 miles east of Brooklyn, and I remember in late 79 early 80 when I was in junior high seeing a 69 Camaro that was at one of the local Amoca stations, it was a SS/RS Big Block (remember blacked out rear panel)Hugger orange with a black hockey stick stripe. It had painted on the side "Brooklyn Heavy", it was set up for drag racing (gutted interior)but was pretty stock, no engine or tranny. I continually asked if it was for sale, owner of the station said the owner was in jail.!! It sat there for about 2 years before the owner sold the station and cleaned house, but I remember that car vividely, wonder if it was a COPO

I was speaking with a fellow from Long Island today who mentioned the Leyte Brothers, Freddie and Eddie, who owned a shop and... had Brooklyn Heavy's '69 Camaro sitting outside to rot after Heavy went away. Does "Leyte Brothers" sound right, JRSully?

Could not recall the name of the station guys that told me Heavy was in the can and the car was not for sale. But DO remember that very vividly, saw it almost everyday going to HS. It was there for a while, never moved. Then one day it was gone. I remember the cut rear wheel wells on it

If you look at the first pictures, hockey stick is not as it should be as the standard Stripe.
Was this Camaro re painted by BM?

JR Sully do you know the address to the Gas Station?

The station is gone, it is now a KFC I believe (what else is new). It was located on the N West corner of Wantagh Ave and Jerusalem Ave in Wantagh NY 11793, I remember Dan Palchanes was chasing this info down a while back FWIW

Thanks JR Sully
I have not been in contact with Dan for several years.
He has been invisible since the problems he had.
And he was blacklisted everywhere.
