Pontiac RAIV Intake Bolts question
So.....I have seen that Chevrolet Motors that used Aluminum Intakes used ZINC plated bolts.
When using AMK as a source they supply ZINC bolts for the 69/70 Pontiac RAIV Motors. They supply standard "Black" bolts for all other motors that are supposed to be painted. Understanding why GM would opt for a ZINC bolt that bolts an aluminum part to a cast iron head in the fact that they are dissimilar metals, what does the Community say or think about this in the case of the Pontiac. Is AMK just following suit with what Chevrolet did? Would GM really make a engineering decision to use ZINC with one manufacturer and not the other? Thoughts are welcome, evidence is even better... No better place to ask this question even if no responses come. The lack of any responses can speak volumes as well... Thanks in advance everyone... |
