Default Sideways photos

I work off an Apple MacBook Pro. Whenever I try to post a photo it displays it sideways. I don't take the photo sideways and it is saved on my computer straight up too. I can't figure out how to correct it. When I rotate my photo so it is a quarter turn from being straight up and then post it, same issue. Please help with any suggestions you may have.

Thank you,

Marty

Been happening to me lately on my ipad. Edit the photo and rotate it just 1 or 2 degrees left or right and save it. Then try uploading it again. BTW, this only occurs with portrait photos not landscape !

P.S. Don't ask how I figured that out - it concerns me that I DID figure it out!!!

Do you take the photo's in landscape mode? The orientation of the way the photo is taken could be the reason the photo's look normal but display it the way the picture was taken. So if you take a picture sideways, it will show normal but as soon as you send or post it, it will display it as it was taken.

Don't know if an APP will help but a start as it may fix your problem??

Thank you very much for the help. I do take the photos with my iPhone in the portrait position. I will mess around with it some more and hopefully find a solution. It is amazing how technology is supposed to make our lives easier, yet it can consume so much of it trying to figure it out. I guess I wouldn't have it any other way. So much is shared on this great site thanks to the technology we all use.

Thanks again for your suggestions.

Marty
