trying to remember my conversations with Jerry Roberts from 30 years ago.
I think the car he was building was a big block Chevelle 1964 or 65 not a Chevy II as I said earlier If I remember correctly he recalled selling many 427 crate engines for cars and boats when at Byrne Brothers parts dept. He said there would sometimes be 4 or 5 there that would be picked up on a Saturday morning. He remembered the Yenkos and factory 427 cars but had more memories of the 1969 Z/28 as he bought one new. Jerry said they had a very large number of 1969 Z/28s come through. At one time averaging one Z/28 sold per day. |
