Default When is too far gone really too far gone

Saw this on Barnfinds, a bit perplexed about the claimed value. Is this actually something someone would take on and not lose their shirt on?

The site claims time has treated it harshly. It isn't time that destroyed that car, it was the spin out and roll over that claimed it. The ONLY thing of value there is the tags and a few unbent remnants of the engine compartment to add to a new shell, to claim it has some of the original car.

If a person has a drivetrain sitting from another wrecked car from the past, it could be replaced somewhat reasonably but to start from scratch would, in all likelihood, exceed the value when done.
