Boeing and NASA Are Working on Airplane Wings That Could Make Flights Faster

The wing is not too drastically different from what we see normally on the sides of planes. But underneath the wing is a “truss” (basically a support) that holds the wing up from the bottom. The truss would allow an aircraft to fly at speeds up to 0.8 Mach (about 615 miles per hour).

Compared to aircraft from the early 2000s, this type of plane would reduce fuel burn by up to 60 percent.

Like many other fast food chains, Denny’s has evolved over the years, the Daily Mealreports. The chain that now calls itself 'America’s diner' started modestly in 1953. Harold Butler and Richard Jezak opened a donut stand in Lakewood, California, and called it 'Danny’s Donuts.' Three years later, they changed the name to Danny’s Coffee Shops and increased their hours. Butler’s motto? 'To serve the best cup of coffee, make the best donuts, give the best service, offer the best value and stay open 24 hours a day.' Find out the first locations of other fast-food chains.

By 1959, Butler and Jezak had established 20 restaurants and expanded the menu. But they weren’t the only entrepreneurs who knew that coffee and doughnuts were a winning combination. So to avoid confusion with another California-based chain called 'Donut Dan’s,' Butler and Jezak changed chain’s name to Denny’s Coffee Shops. Don’t miss these other restaurants you didn’t know had changed their names.

Then two years later, Butler and Jezak simplified Denny’s Coffee Shops to the name that just stuck: Denny’s.

For those not in the know . . . The Old Man of the Lake is a 30-foot (9 m) tall tree stump, most likely a hemlock, that has been bobbing vertically in Oregon's Crater Lake since at least 1896.

Valeo Unveils Back-Up Camera That Makes Your Trailer Invisible

According to many, poor visibility is one of the main disadvantages of modern cars compared to older, more traditionally-designed vehicles. A few companies have already presented different tech solutions to improve the overall visibility, including a transparent A-pillar and even a transparent hood which is now an option on the all-new Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The Paris-based automotive supplier Valeo is taking things a step further by introducing a technology that lets you see through your trailer or caravan.

Debuting at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show, the so-called XtraVue Trailer system uses several cameras mounted at the back of the vehicle and the rear of the trailer or caravan. The image from all sources is combined into a single homogenous image which shows what’s happening behind the vehicle on an additional small display somewhere on the center console.

Amazon's CEO and his wife, MacKenzie, announced Wednesday via a tweet that they intend to divorce. TMZ reported Thursday that the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement, and it's unclear whether they had a postnuptial agreement. Experts say the distinction could be costly for the world's wealthiest man.

You'd think they could afford for her to eat a sammich every now and then.
