Default 1970 Z28Transverse muffler sugestions

After a little carb tuning & valve lash adjustments this morning. I took my Z for a spirited rip thru the gears to make sure everything was good . the car is a 34,000 mile original car retaining most of its original exhaust & muffler . But now as a result of todays drive I blew a huge hole rite out the middle of the original transverse muffler, Any suggestions on a "OEM style " muffler with a little more aggressive sound ??? Thanks

I had an aftermarket Walker on mine years ago and it was a pretty good sounding Muffler.

I went ahead and put a GM 3983066 back on and was actually disappointed in the exhaust note. That muffler is "new car quiet" with stock exhaust manifolds.

The Walker mite be exactly what I’m looking for ? The OEM muffler is very quiet, I want something a bit more Hi performance sounding without being obnoxious, any idea on muffler name or part # ? Thanks

Here is a much more cost effective option for correct transverse muffler ($125) or a correct complete exhaust system. Quality is said to be on par with Gardner system at a much more affordable price. Haven't personally used it.

Bet your original system sounds pretty aggressive now with the hole in the muffler. :-)

Jeff, I have Walker Turbo Mufflers on my ‘69 Z28 in a true dual custom rolled system. It sounds great. Loud enough when you want I to be but quiet when want it to be too. Doesn’t sound like a diesel truck. Not tinny. No reverb Or resonance in the cabin. 100% better than Slow Master mufflers. I suggest it!
