It won't happen here. It doesn't matter how many disclaimers you have, someone will still file a suit that you will end up hiring a attorney to defend. Those of you really wanting a site for it can get together and build a dedicated website just for that purpose. Noble idea but good luck.

This site as well as others provide vital information to hobbyist. I think for the past 20 plus years various site have done an adequate job to alert members of potential issues. On the flip side cars have also been labeled as fake when in fact they are genuine.

Looking at a few pictures and third hand hearsay creates a slippery slope. At this point and time I am not interested in adding a specific forum. We all have opinions, but without absolute proof, such as a physical inspection and inspection report I'm not willing to label any car.

The buyer has a responsibility to due his/her diligence and recommend doing their own inspection or hiring an expert.

Post fake cars..

I think we do a pretty good job of shining the light on questionable cars already...off line communications and/or phone calls can fill in the rest. The real cars usually speak for themselves...and as Steve mentioned...you need to do your homework when purchasing a collector car...ultimately it is the buyer's responsibility to ask questions and if needed hire a professional to inspect and confirm the deal.
