Default Scammers to want ads

Beware of scammers even to this web site. I posted a want ad and had a call from a man closing out his deceased father in laws property and he had the part I needed. He was knowledgable of the parts and very convincing. So I sent the money and now the number is disconnected. I am sure the name will change with the next person but the names I was given was Shean Harris and Alicia Harris in New Mexico but they were supposedly closing out the father in laws property in California. I knew it was a risk but he answered all the right questions. He was good and I have been screwed by one of the best phone scammers I have had the misfortune to meet. BEWARE of persons that have your parts

That is a bummer. How long has it been since you paid?

Sorry to hear about this. Like what was said, never western union. Also never pay Pay Pal friends and family, unless you know the seller. If you use pay pal use the paying for an item option. I believe this will give you some protections. If the seller says he is stuck with paying fee's with this option, offer to pay the fee's or part of the fee's. This will weed out some of the thieves. Although pay pal is always changing rules etc. ROB

I responded to a wanted ad last week by a new member on here (MotorGuy50). Last Sunday he called me & asked if there were any scammers on the site, he was contacted by someone who tried to sell him all the parts he was looking for for $300.

Default Other car sites !

A very popular Pontiac site (PY - Performance Years) forums also has been battling these losers.

That site has found / banned several clowns this week.

Chris.

I must mention there are a ton of good people here on this site who I have bought parts from and are an integral part of the hobby. It is very upsetting to find others are using the forum to their advantage only.
