Default Early 70 Cowl Hood

I've had this Chevelle cowl hood for 35 years and just now discovered it's a very early 70 model. I'd rather install a more correct late 70-72 hood on my Chevelle.

Is there a market or any value for this early design hood? I see the AMD reproduction hoods (late 70-72 only) are only $300 new.

Yes, they are quite valuable especially if it is a flapper hood as opposed to the raised SS hood. They bring half again more than the OEM late hood. Condition is everything.

X33rs..
Are you looking for a late design cowl induction flapper hood or just an SS domed hood.
I have a late design gm SS domed hood that’s in very nice condition I would like to sell.
Guessing you’re in the market for a cowl flapper hood though.

Hi Tony,
Yes looking for a flapper hood. My SS has the dome hood. I bought this flapper hood decades ago with plans to put it on my car when I got around to painting it. I just happened to realize now that it's an early 70 hood.
I was thinking about just buying an AMD repo hood, as I've bought sheet metal from them in the past for other projects and was happy with the quality. Their flapper hood is made like the later version.

That is unless someone tells me the quality of their hoods are poor. In which case I may be forced to use what I have.
