That car - along with several of the others that were offered at the same auction - was discussed here previously, but I can't seem to find the thread.

I was in a warehouse a few weeks ago... there was a 77 monte - black with Red interior and a few thousand miles on the clock - original tires, and about 1/4" dust on the entire car...

Wow, '72 is my favorite year, and I had one a LONG time ago. The EX got it... But to call it a muscle car and have it sell for $110k is crazy.

It's a nice car, but I just can't help shake my head.
I'm probably in the minority here, but the high prices on these cars drive me crazy. I mean, it's a regular old 350 powered Monte that happens to have low mileage. Sure, it's not usual for them to have such low miles, but it trickles down until eventually you get people wanting a fortune for a pile of rust. Were I not fortunate enough to grow up around them, I doubt I'd ever get a chance to even sit in a 68 Camaro, or 67 Chevelle, let alone drive them, because I couldn't afford one. It also leads a lot of people to bemoan that the younger generation "has no interest in anything outside their phones" which just isn't true. A lot of us like these cars, but what's the point in it when you can't afford one anyway? (It really doesn't help that many people at car shows will just blow me off because I'm younger so clearly I don't know anything in their eyes- I've had it happen and it was even worse when I was younger). Sorry, rant over. It's something that I've been feeling for a while now. Hope I don't hurt any feelings- I do like this site and from what I've seen on here, you're all good people who have been happy to help me learn over the years.
