Default 70 Challenger 'vert

Few of pix of my 70 Challenger convertable around 2003. 318 904 car but fairly well optioned. The Sattilight was a 383 727 combo. Both had p/tops. I really liked the white top white trim on the Ply.

...and a couple of my 70 Plymouth GTX clone vert. Never know why Ply dropped the gtx vert in 70!

The Aust. gov't finally changed the legislation in 2000. A imported vehicle that is 30yrs or older [25 in some states of OZ] can now be registered for road use in LHD format. Most cars that are RHD in OZ have been around a while as it was compulsary to convert a car to RHD before 2000. Most people now decide to keep a car LHD. Makes the drive-through and tolls a challenge, but the bonus is you can chat-up the girls on the footpath! lol
Im sure the Challenger 'vert would turn some heads in the USA.
cheers Dave

At first I thought you were kidding and the photo was printed backwards. But, I see that is actually RHD. So, is that a conversion or where did you get all the right handed console and dash parts??

"So, is that a conversion or where did you get all the right handed console and dash parts??"

It was converted when it was compulsory to do so. All the RHD plastic parts are made from hand made moulds by a guy that imported mostly Mopars back in the 80s and he still has the moulds for all those parts!
The steering was a combination of RHD export C body steering gearbox and pitman arm/ link and E body tie rods. Using the orig column. The guy that did the RHD conversions is still in my area, he even has moulds for 70 door mirrors, door trims and shakers in his stash.Way before they were avail repop.

"Awesome car to deliver newspapers in!!!"
Wouldve been a nice work vehicle for a USPS deliverer back in the day.

later Dave
