After I clean mine up, I find a guy selling seat belt webbing and the thread, his dad worked for Fisher Body, $10. Lol. Packard Prov grounds I find the best stuff.

If all that they need is a thorough cleaning (chrome and labels are in good shape) I run mine thru the dishwasher on high heat, with extra wash cycle. They really clean up nice and I don't have to put any effort in them.

That is an idea! Never thought of that! Yes..all good, just dirty. Won't shrink them in any way with the high heat?

Dishwashers are great for parts and rims, just use crud cutter. use the pot scrubber cycle. Just don’t let the Mrs see you do it. Lmfao

I always put my belts on the upper rack to be safe. I use the fire department dish washer so I don't get into trouble with the Mrs......

Back in the mid-80's when I was restoring my 70 Hemi Challenger, my wife came home from work to find the black wrinkle finish paint on the rocker covers curing on low heat in the kitchen oven. Didn't prove especially popular, but both the rocker covers and the oven were just fine in the end.

Before my renal house was occupied, I cleaned my rims/tires in the kitchen sink. What a mess. Crud cutter worked well on the back sides.
One year at the nationals, my Room had a dishwasher, I ran all my parts I bought through before I left. Lmao.
If you could just use mineral spirts on the wash cycle it would be nice.
