'70 RAIV T/A - the ultimate flip?
This cool RAIV Trans Am was sold for $46k and change at the Auburn auction in 2018...and the current seller has it listed for $234,990 (not a misprint).
Granted I think $46k was extremely well bought, but $234k? Link to 1970 RAIV Trans Am auction Link to 2018 auction results - scroll down the page 228870N131275 |

The car is a re-body so there is that....but if it didn't have that as part of its "history" and was an original car, it would be worth every penny of its asking price. But as it is , Buyer Beware.
I wanted to add that this car has never sold for under 50K. It sold for $150,000 at that Worldwide event in 2018. The prices you are seeing on the site in the link (if you follow the asterisk beside each price) is the "average sale at auction based on historical auction sales data" for a similar model, i.e., a regular 1970 Trans Am. A 1973 Brewster Green 4-speed SD-455 T/A went for over 200K at the same auction (it was a family collection of T/As). This site references the "average" price at auction as 61K. Restored BG SD 4-speeds don't trade hands for 61K. The actual selling prices of the cars are not shown there for some reason. 228870N131275
