Default Original Paint, Original Owner 39k-mile '65 GTO

Auction begins with "I recently purchased this GTO from the original owner's Daughter -Owner passed and daughter needed to sell."

Friends, please educate your kids on what your stuff is worth...I'm guessing the current seller is making some coin on this flip. What a neat car - when's the last time a dual thin white/red stripe tire was made? That gives a pretty accurate depiction of how little this car has been driven.

----What a great GTO! I'm not a customer as I feel 65's should be 4-speeds, but the car is really neat. Not exactly a negative but his-and-hers Hurst shifters weren't available in 65, and I don't understand how it would work on a 2-speed auto that would have come on a 65. Maybe the trans has been up graded as well? It is a nice period change however. I suspect some substantial bids but the Tri-Power upgrade and 4-barrel combo will hold the bidding back a bit.

That's interesting...I didn't realize that seat belts could be deleted for credit once they were mandated for installation by the Government. That is indeed a nice, well maintained low mile car.

Wow what a well equipped car... metallic brakes, rear defog, power antenna, rear speaker... looks like everything EXCEPT tri-power and 4 spd.

IIRC, front seat lap belts became mandatory in 65, shoulder belts in 68, and head restraints (head rests) in 69. First new car my parents ever bought was a 65 Olds Dynamic 88 and it had front seat lap belts.

Our '65 GTO came with front belts, with the optional retractor.

Rear belts were not available.

I have to quit looking at this car. What a beautiful survivor. Hope it goes to a good home.
