Default 1969 Chevelle Jack

I’ve been looking at bumper jacks for my 06C Kansas built 1969 Chevelle. I’ve seen a few different versions.

I know mine needs the square shaped mast, not the T shaped.

The problem is, I’ve been seeing two differently stamped hooks, one with a “UN” stamped on it but not the other. Also, the main housing with rivets that have a date stamped on it but one that just has an “S” stamped on the rivet but with no date on anywhere and this guy has had the car for over 20 years, being positive it’s not a repop.

Can someone enlighten me on what’s correct and what to look for.

Here are some pictures to show what I’ve found….the picture of the “S” on the rivet is the one with the hook without the “UN”

Thanks in advance, Kurt

Default 1969 Chevelle Jack

The square mast version will have a date on the mast itself.

Mike, I’ve seen them with a patent number stamped on them but haven’t noticed a date…..is it near the patent number?

Default 1969 Chevelle Jack

Hello Kurt,
Here are some photos of an original jack from a 69 Malibu, car was from CA. Not sure if this helps, but it seems there were different venders for the jacks, from different areas, different variations.

Here’s the back story on the one in the pictures. I bought it on Team Chevelle back in 2009. I asked the guy if it was a repop and he said no….but after years of looking at other jacks, I assumed it was a repop because it looked different than the other two styles I’ve seen.

But now that Mike posted those pictures, I’m not so sure. Here’s some close up pictures of mine that I took…..it looks like mine is stamped B.1.69…..making it February 1st, 1969……I assume?
