Default Noland Adams-Corvette Authority

Noland Adams who wrote a number of technical and restoration books on Corvettes passed away last Wednesday. Noland was a kind man who was very gracious with all of his information and documentation. When I lived in Sacramento in the early 90's, he signed one of his books in my garage.

Later, we went to look at a very rare 1967 Corvette with a 427/400 horsepower engine. The owner claimed that the stamp was originally IL for a 427/390 horse and the factory over stamped it to JC for a 427/400 horse motor. Noland looked at it and said "that's entirely possible, but my notes from 1974 show this as an undisturbed 427/390 IL stamp 17 years ago". What could the seller say???

He was a good person.

Default Noland Adams-Corvette Authority

'

Sorry to hear and prayers/condolences to Noland's family and many friends.
My copies of his books are well worn also he graciously helped me on the phone a few times 25-30 years ago too...back before this whole interweb thing, his books/knowledge were THE best factual info available.
Thank you Noland and RIP.

----I cant count high enough (no jokes here) to tell you guys how many times I referenced Nolands 63 to 67 Corvette book. It has been invaluable to me over the years. So much so that I bought a 2nd as the 1st was getting a bit threadbare. I knew Noland as well and he was a special guy! RIP, Noland......Bill S

He was an irreplaceable resource to the Corvette community. His work brought the Corvette restoration / preservation hobby to a whole different level.

Thanks for posting this Tim
