Will a 1970 AM 8 Track Delco Radio that came out of a 70 Chevelle fit a 70 Nova??

I would say it would, just make sure that the shaft openings are the same distance apart.

Support bracket to the dash skeleton will be different, but those detach easily.

I guess my next question is were there different Delco radio applications in 1970 for different model cars??
Reason I am posting this is because I have a very nice 1970 AM 8 track Delco radio that I was told came out of a 70 Chevelle. It will not fit in my 70 Nova radio frame in the dash. I am guessing it may be for large car applications like Impala or Caprice or even bigger such as truck or van?? There is no part number sticker on the radio. See below pictures. The 8 track radio is on the bottom. The top radio is a 71 AM FM which is the same dimensions as my 70 AM FM in the car now.. Thanks Rich

The am 8 track is out of a 1970 Chevelle Monte or Impala. Did you take the dash face off and try to install it that way? You also need the rear side mounting bracket to hold the radio up and taking all the pressure off the radio cups. I know one guy who didn't put the bracket on a ruined his mint original 70 Chevelle ss dash.

No, the problem appeared to be the side black colored heat ribs would not fit into the metal framing behind the dash plastic. That radio is very heavy a bracket is a must for that... LOL
