another interesting "427" car was the Roy Mayne 1965 Impala Stock Car
bought new as an SS 283 Impala in Evening Orchid , the body was left close to stock NASCAR had a 430 cu in limit in the 1960s The early 396 block can take an overbore to 427 so they were allowed to run with a 427 cu in engine in 1965 before the 1966 factory 427 was sold the car was found and restored |
