This is what the early flat j bolts looks like, part number 20550 and the bottom on the traction bar is just a flat piece, the traction bars in gray primer (center of picture) are the early square ones and they use the part number 20550 j bolt with the flat saddle.

If by "tow tab" guy you mean the site member here who remade the NMW tow tabs, that would be the same guy...if not I'm not sure who you are referring to.

I can lend a set of the 2 1/2" Stirrups to be used as a pattern if someone want to make them. I would also be interested in buying at least 2 sets of the 20550 bracket as shown in the picture above if someone would supply a pattern so they could be made.

I have not done it yet, but I do have intentions to make some of these. I was just gonna make the stirrups, since it seems they would work with the CE J bolts. Same thing as Lakewood, but they include the narrow stirrup which we can't use.

I am also leaning towards Stainless, but may plate steel like originals. I am about 1 month out on this project.

gotta use the big heavy U bolts just like in the old days. Any welding shop or metal fabricator can make them for you.

You will need two sheets as you will use the bigger of the three on this sheet.
