Default Doug Martz / Camaro Parts Exchange

Just back from AZ to learn that long time bud/mentor/employer Doug Martz passed away Friday. He was in the car business his entire life; his family owned Tosa Chrysler-Plymouth and Martz Chevrolet in the Milwaukee area from the ‘50s to the ‘80s. Doug started Camaro Parts Exchange [later CPX] in 1977; we vended at many shows throughout the Midwest over the years. CPX ended up on 76th & Appleton in Milwaukee; many WI and IL car guys came through the doors in the 15 years we were there. Had fun and learned a lot with the `67 Z/28 and ZL1 projects. He retired to Nevada in 1997.

Doug was one of the funniest, most intelligent people I had the pleasure of knowing. And, very generous to my family over the years.

Godspeed Dougie. Thanks for the memories!

Sorry to hear. Had recent interactions with him via email regarding tracking down my first ever 1969 chevelle sold new at Martz Chevrolet.
He was a very nice man and a pleasure to communicate with.

I purchased numerous dealer items from him on Ebay. I know he lived out in Vegas. I never personally met him but corresponded with him via emails. He was a very nice man.

Sad to hear. RIP

Bill, this is very sad news. Our close friend text me last night and I've thought about this all day. Doug was a great guy and will be missed by me and a lot of friends in our hobby.
I always looked forward to him walking up to my booth at Jefferson and spending 5 minutes
To say Hi and then 2 or 3 hours later we would say goodby and see you next time.
That's the way he was and how I will remember him.
Another good one is gone.
Condolences to the Family and Friends.
Joe

Default Doug Martz/Camaro Parts Exchange

I am sorry to hear that Doug passed away so suddenly. I purchased many items from him before eBay, through Hemmings Motor News and from advertisements in the United States Camaro Club, Super Chevy and Chevy High Performance magazines. God speed, Doug.

Doug was one of the smartest and funny guys I have ever known. I learned a lot about Camaros from him.

Sorry to hear of his passing. He was a very nice guy and knew a ton about Chevy musclecars. I met him at a swap meet in Kenosha or Racine around '87 or '88 and bought a Martz Chevrolet trunk emblem...he had a box full of them. RIP

William G.
If you are a reflection of the mentoring and influence of Doug Martz, then he must have been a super neat, intelligent, and great all around guy! Always a privilege to have someone like that in our lives for the tutoring and friendship they provide. Godspeed Doug.
