Default Intake gaskets

I'm putting a square port intake on oval port heads, which gaskets get used - square or oval?

You would have to use the larger of the two, the square port gasket or you would have a very bad vacuum leak.

Looking awesome Marlin. Rectangle gaskets are what you need. Let us know how it works out. I have known many guys who have had great results with a rectangular manifold on oval heads.

Years ago I had 70SS Chevelle with an LS5 454. I installed a LS6 intake and used the rectangle port gaskets on the oval port heads. Worked well together without any problems. This was many years ago too.

Did this on a 427 +.060 with a 850 puddle dumper -- worked great ... spun 6500 all day long. TAZ

Looks like that will work. On my 427, I tapered the top of the intake port on the head to match the rectangle intake. TAZ

Use the square port.

These would work with a certain Felpro gasket.
