Default '70 Challenger RT/SE, #s 440/4-sp/Dana

Looks like a good one that lived much of its life in the southwest, so don't let the Michigan address sway you. That said, if anyone has a serious interest in this car, the seller is about 30 min from me.

Doesn't seem terribly unreasonable for this one to have a buy-it-now a few bucks shy of $50k.

Goodness gracious, that is a handsome color combo. Love the drivetrain too! Does it need anything? Can't access ebay at work.

Just before Thanksgiving I met the previous seller to buy the car. Nice guy that drove 4 hours from Cleveland South and I drove 4 hours North to hook up to a trailer and bring it back to NC. Well...when I saw the car in person I found a car that had the quarters painted, due to body repair. The car had rust repair in both quarters in front of each tire, and behind each tire. The paint was chipping off the trunk and quarter in thick scale like paint and filler chipping off a body that was not prepared properly. The passenger quarter has rust bubbles the size of small pancakes, and several rust bubbles behind the rear tire. The driver rocker had filler in it too. I could not get in the trunk because the lock had broken a few days before our meeting. The seller did send me pics of the trunk and it looked good, but I never saw it for myself. Based on the rest of the car it could had been replaced. The vinyl top is totally shot, and the rear trim around the back glass was not fitting flush in the window frame as if it has been out previous for body repair. There were no shoulder belts, and the lap belts appeared too had been out of the car due to no covers on the belts where they fasten to the floor. The interior is ok, but the headliner had been replaced with the incorrect material and it was delaminated and was falling down. It needed to be replaced. The heater slide switch was locked up and the heat did not work, the fan blew only on low, the radio barely had volume. The car has 109K miles on it and we all know that any car built in this era that has that many miles on it is worn out. My opinion anyway. The car had no build sheet, wrong carb, but correct Carter AVS carb. Just a carb for a non CA 4 speed car as I recall. The car was supposed to be from CA. May had been for awhile but based on the rust repair was not from CA when it was a new car. The wiring harness had been hacked on, and one of the horns was missing. All that said, my conclusion is that it is a good car to restore, but I did not want another project. You could certainly drive this car, but I just could not get past the rust bubbles, and the large flakes coming off the rear of the car. My deal with the previous seller was $40K. It is still a real RTSE 4 speed Dana super track pack car which is cool, but go look at it if you are serious. I have several pictures of the car if anyone wants them, PM me.
