Default Charred Mess '65 Corvette

Ouch...burned, then stored outside for 20 years. Original drivetrain so I've posted this for posterity.... 194675S102740

Too bad that Cadillac was left out to ruin with the Vette.

5k is pretty high for what is essentially an engine block, heads, crank, rods, maybe the oil pan and exhaust manifolds.

Wouldn't trust any of the aluminum parts.

Sure enough. Didn't even look that closely after seeing the first pic.

I guess the bright side is that all those rocket scientists who left their cars outside to sit and rot has elevated the value of the ones that were kept indoors and taken car of.

The Cougar in the background of one of the other pictures actually looks salvageable.

I noticed the exterior color on the Vette listed as "brown". Was there even a brown available on the Vette in 65, or is he just referring to the current charred / rust color?

What would one do with this thing (besides plant flowers in it)?
