That was one hell of a nice gesture for him to donate that car, someone should set something up to buy it back for him, how cool of a story would that be?
Count me in to donate.

Pete,

This is complete as of last night. This query came back with no hits on the VIN.

Puzzling.

I have a car from Ohio, and ran the same check on it. The only thing that comes back is the last TITLE date, no the last time it was registered. So 2011 was the last title date.

'

The $200 purchase price on the BMV page RLW68 posted could indicate sidestepping taxes and/or a poor condition parts car or project?
Does the ACTIVE status noted on the page mean licensed w/ current tags or what specifically?
Keep moving and hopefully beating the bushes results w/ locals who know the car!
Again, love to hear more of the Norwood guy and if he got the car new also anything of his time working @ the Plant.

There is a cruise-in on Aug 10, Jackson OH. Looks like a lot more fun than internet searches

https://www.facebook.com/jacksongeargrinders/

Also they have helped locate other cars before.

Actually, a good place to ask about this car’s whereabouts is this Saturday in Wheelersburg, Oh., along the river. It is the last Saturday in June, July & August. It usually draws about 500 cars. It’s close enough to Jackson that I know there has to be some folks from there at the cruise. GPS shows it is 33 miles apart, Jackson to Wheelersburg.

I want to say a little something about this cruise in. At least in the past, around 9-9:30, as the show is winding down, folks get out their lawn chairs and line the sidewalks as the “antics” begins. Burnouts, and all around craziness on the main drag. The kind of stuff that gives the hobby a bad name and is dangerous and juvenile. It’s mostly the locals and not the nice cars crowd. A big motorcycle presence guarantees things like wheelies, standing up on the seat riding down the street and other craziness. I watch, for a little bit, because it is like a train wreck and I can’t turn away. I remember a Harley threesome doing a wheelie together and one of them fell off his bike. The picked him up and dusted him off and put him back on. I think his pride was hurt the most. Also, a Hellcat did a constant burnout for about 3/4 mile till we lost sight of him. And the 4 wheel drive diesel trucks “ rolling coal” right in your face. You haven’t lived till ya got a lung full of diesel ( joke).

I've gone to the Wheelersburg show several times in the past, but never stayed that late in the evening. Not sure I'll be able to make this week's cruise, but next time I'm there I'll stay late. I'm surprised that it gets that rowdy as it's always been pretty calm when I was there.

Bentley, have you been to that tiny 1/8 mile drag strip about 20 minutes from the McDonalds? That scene can get a little crazy at night as well.

I know u guys have a couple leads on the car now as it is, but if they go cold then I would highly recommend u check out Bill Gould with autoancestry.com (even though I can’t get his website to pull up right now). I’ve used him to track down the OO of my COPO and he did a fantastic job.

If you want to reach out to him and have any trouble then just shoot me a message and I’ll send u his email address.
