Is it the consensus that the letter M/T are for Mickey Thompson or is it for something else?

The M/T definitely 100% means Mickey Thompson on a Wedge scattershield. This one is interesting due to it not having a removable bottom piece.

So Wedge engineering made these and put the M/T on it for Mickey Thompson?

There was a business arrangement there of some type. Maybe Mickey bought Wedge or just used them as the supplier for the scattershields sold through his catalog. If you look at old '60s era magazines, you'll see some ads which verify the M/T and Wedge connection.
