Post Uniroyal Tiger Paws 2021...

Haven't done much car stuff this year...constant rain, heat and humidity take the fun out of it. Today was a perfect day...sunshine and low humidity so I went to the garage.

I decided to update the tires and wheels on our 70 black survivor L78 Nova...it has had white line wide ovals for years. Typical repro units...nothing special. This is a 22,000 original mile car....a real time capsule.

So here is what we did; with some help from lowmile and Mark Hassett [two Marks ] I was able to put together an NOS set of Uniroyal Tiger Paw white line E70 x 14 wide ovals. This car came with them from the factory...the 'never on the ground' spare still resides in the trunk. My buddy Tony 'the Greek' Lembesis, cleaned up the factory SS Magnums and installed the vintage rubber. These NOS Uniroyal tires are like hen's teeth to find...they will be reserved for special shows...not driven on the street.

While we were at it, I had Tony refinish a set of 15 x 7 rally wheels and mount some brand new Uniroyal Tiger Paws...215 x 70/R15 black wall tires for driving. Today I installed the new setup and added a set of NOS 'police style' center caps. I think they look pretty good...wasn't sure about adding trim rings?? I have an NOS set of 15 x 7 units...tried one loosely to see how it looked and decided to leave it alone.

Interested to hear what you guys think. I will take some better photos soon after the old girl gets cleaned up a little.

Love the nos tiger paws! My Monte had them originally on it. Still have the original spare. G70/15. I have 2 nos ones. Still looking for 2 others. All for show. Probably gonna buy the diamondback brand either white or redline radials and have them put the shoulder on them to look like bias ply.

I'd love to see a picture with the white walls on the car. That would look mean.

AGREED, me too. Just that little bit MORE over a rally. Black wall or white letter showing.

Another vote to see the SS wheels on it. Not really into the police caps on Rally's. The '67-68 cap adds a little more interest to the wheel.

That car will look amazing with the white walls on the original SS wheels!

IMHO,

For a 22,000 mile time capsule it should be exactly how it came off the assembly line.
Just like the factory spare.

Use any other set you prefer for driving.

Chris.
