I looked your buyer up. As you probably know Mark, he's one of these guys that drills people about their listings and has plenty of bids that are well below the money on the given car.
I think he likes the talk the talk, with out being able to walk the walk. Hope it works out. To Nick's point, BaT is very supportive in this respect. Tim |

Yes, I did too Tim and didn't want to say too much. The $130K bid on the Mustang that sold for $200k plus was very telling to me. I think he has 190 bids during the last year all well below the selling price! BAT charged him $2,900 for my purchase, so I suspect that might curb his bidding for a while LOL!
As for the car, no response on my offer to hold the car and I just learned from the shipping company that his excuse of not being able to import the car without a valid passport is a lie, so I notified BAT this morning that the sale was not going through and sent them the emails from the guy. Apparently, BAT has a dept that looks after this sort of thing. No matter what happens, I think a no sale might hurt a future sale as people will wonder what happened. Pisses me off to be honest. I'll see what BAT says, but if I have the option, I think I would rather keep the car and relist it next year in the Spring if I still want to sell it. I plan on getting it out this weekend for a drive. Something that I had planned to do when I bought it but never really got around to doing because of the Covid restrictions up here. When you have a car for sale and answer a bunch of questions and take pics of details etc. it really makes you appreciate a special car a little more. I know that there is no way one could restore this car for $58,000.

----Feel your pain, Mark! It certainly doesn't sound even remotely like you are desperate. Probably more a storage issue. Sit on it, or maybe I should say "sit in it" and enjoy it till the spring as you say. It crossed too cheap and you need to distance yourself from that. You'll not regret it!.....Bill S

Thanks Bill. You are right, I have the money and a wife that doesn’t care what I buy, so that is covered. However, we have a 3 car garage with a lift and we have 6 cars in the family. So, one of 2 daily drivers would have to hit the driveway. My wife’s is an RX350 and they get stolen regularly in our neighbourhood. So, it would be my Macan S out in the snow which doesn’t thrill me, but could happen.
BAT reached out to the second high bidder and he’d like to talk. I agree with you and think the car should have brought more. So, the price is the price as far as I am concerned. My wife thinks I should just keep it and put some miles on it and she is probably right…but don’t tell her that I said that!

Mark, Jeff in nj. I’m vaulting one of my garages to put in a lift to put my 70 Monte that Jason restored. I’d be happy to put the Camaro on top of the Monte in the climate controlled garage. I promise I wouldn’t drive it without your permission.

Another update…the BAT after sales rep that I’m working with, Dave, is trying hard to make things right. He is still trying to work a deal with the original auction winner, but has assured me that they will run the car through again at no cost to me should that not work out.
Frankly, I’m indifferent at this point, but I really appreciate his attempts to get my car sold.

One more update...more for those who are interested in the BAT process than those interested in the car. BAT offered to run the car again or refund my money. I thought that was fair of them (they did get paid the $2,900 BAT fees from the flakey bidder). I opted to take the refund and keep the car.
