Another Clean '69 Trans Am Project
These seem to be coming out of the woodwork lately. Clean looking car with ancient paint -but what a cool project.
Already going for strong $$ - guess it will end between $60-70k. Currently $36k and no reserve. Link to 1969 Trans Am Project Car auction |

Be interesting to see the PHS as it has no power steering cooler.Tom

Also doesn’t appear to be the original engine. Just states it’s the correct code...

I don’t think that’s the correct st wheel, the correct ones are pricy.
Shifter ball too. Last edited by Burd; 02-10-2020 at 05:16 PM. |

As I remember at some date in production the T/A got the formulas style wheel. No clue about the shifter ball.I think with taller rear gears they did not get the power steering cooler. The build sheet or PHS will tell a tail.Carbs for this car is stupid expensive if missing.Usually in the 4K range.Tom

I'm mildly interested, so please keep your comments coming. Is the center vent functional on non-A/C 69 Firebirds? Thanks

steering wheel is correct if built after the change date. shouldn't have the vent on a no ac car. see pic that is posted a couple above this post. the shift ball on the picture posted is an optional walnut knob that will show on the phs. as for the ps cooler line, a lot of the cars ive seen have lost them over the years. this car should have it. I have never seen an ac car that had one from the factory. (not saying some didn't but I haven't seen one that was still with the original owner and said it had one new). also appears to have an original spoiler as they are very heavy and sag in the middle like this one is. reproductions I have seen are all hollow and weigh a lot less than an original.
it appears to be a really good car to start with and correct a few things or just drive it like it is. HOWEVER I wouldn't touch it without a PHS on it. Last edited by muscle_collector; 02-09-2020 at 03:50 PM. |

Gary is correct on his points though they did make two different spoilers in 69 one is very light weight and some are the heavy ones.

Isn’t there some ram air ducting that usually gone in the engine bays.
Years ago, I almost bought one, for. 18k should have bought it. Lol |

I question the seat upholstery.
The car for sale looks like an amateur installed the upholstery....somebody sucked the hog rings that secure the covers too far resulting in deeper puckers. The car Burd posted has the smoothness I'd expect from an original seat. |
