I echo what Bill said. We showed our '67 Corvettes in the same circuit within the same time frame. I was unimpressed with BG "survivor" judging. IMO, Legends Judging @ MCACN and NCRS Bowtie judging are the only real survivor judging. You cannot judge a survivor watching a clock from your back. Period.

With regard to the paint on this Corvette - I see in some pics a tight pattern of orange peel making the object in the paint reflection accurately distorted for lacquer paint. Additionally, in the photo of the bottom side of the back of the car, you can clearly see typical factory style of little/no paint on the bottom of the 1/4s. I'm not suggesting paint work hasn't happened

I’m 98% certain paint work has been done on that car. If not the whole car. Disclaimer JMHO.. I'd also like some opinions on the w/s's.. I don't believe them to be originals either.

I don’t think Dan still owns this one.

That's a pretty color on that car, repaint or not.

I’ve always loved the ‘66 Corvette color palette!

Clarification is in order here. The BG judges are fully qualified and capable, and several change hats to also judge NCRS and Triple Diamond (MACACN). The issue is the time allowed for them to do their job.

When I had my '67 judged at BG in '15, one of the four judges came back after his duties were completed and spent over an hour with me going over my car, just for his own learning experience. In '18 he was again judging my car for Triple Diamond, and I'm pretty sure he has judged it for NCRS at some point. I consider him a friend.

Sorry for getting off topic here.

Bill W

I’m gonna say this because I still think it’s a pretty car even though I believe it is not being truthfully represented. Fake w/s and a repaint should be disclosed.. I’m really surprised at several of the Vette guys on this forum haven’t spoken up? Why?

I’ll just place this right here for a good comparison as I know without a doubt this is legit. I’ll let everyone else make their own judgment.. Hell I could be wrong but something tells me I’m not..

Added the above photo so we have a good side by side.

I called on the car today. The seller stated that in the notes the right door and front lower valance has been painted. For what reasons he didn’t know. He texted some photos of touch ups of nicks and scratches on right door and quarter, top rear deck and upper left quarter. If you look at the weather stripping it’s dry rotted pretty bad on the left windshield pillar. He also stated that the door weather stripping was dry rotted also. The cars body appears to be straight. The interior is in great shape with a little wear in the carpet on the drivers side. Color combination is outstanding with Trophy Blue being the second rarest color in 66. I know of a 66 coupe 450hp the same color combination. Would love to own both of them.
