Default '65 GTO 4-sp Convertible, cheapest one out there

$1000 and no reserve. You can still read the "Holiday" dealership decal on the decklid.

Cheapest one out there? If you tried to bring it back, it could be the most expensive one out there.

I've been tracking cars that have an "X" after the date code for about 45 years now.

Looks like the 21st convertible A body to be built.

This is the lowest body number and VIN I've seen.

My car is an "09A X" body, completed on Sept 18, but was invoiced the same day as this car.

It is my belief that 9/21/64 is the earliest that saleable units could be invoiced.

Also - round rivets on the VIN tag (my car also has round rivets, rather than rosette).
