Post E-78 x 14...

I know our 1970 Nova came from the factory with E-78 x 14 black wall tires...white walls were optional. This was probably the same for 68-69 and 71-72...

Most likely these tires were used by other manufacturers and also sold over the counter at retailers.

It appears the wheel in your photo is a 4 lug version...maybe an earlier vehicle??

Interesting, I always thought that the majority of the 4 lug wheels were 13" diameter (or less). Maybe an early 6 cylinder Mustang or Falcon (for the wheel itself) The tire, I suspect had multiple potential applications in late 60's to mid 70's.
