This gorgeous 1987 Lamborghini Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole serial #HLA12126 has 7,285 original kilometers (4,527 miles) and is a terrific example of a true survivor. Of the estimated 610-630, 5000 QV models ever built only 66 of them had factory fuel injection. This is one of the 66! As the clean Car Fax report documents it’s had limited ownership history with no accidents or damage. It was treated with the best of care and stored properly which is evident of its spectacular original condition. MS CLASSIC CARS had the vehicle professionally inspected prior to purchase. MS CLASSIC CARS also had it completely serviced by an authorized Lamborghini dealership which is documented with an invoice that is included. The vehicle has been completely detailed from top to bottom. The original owner’s manual, original Pirelli P7 R tires dated 1986/1988, Lamborghini Countach book, Lamborghini Countach framed 32x21 poster, Lamborghini Countach 1/24 scale car and Cannonball Run DVD are included. The Lamborghini Countach is considered by many as the world’s first supercar and it’s highly collectable. Serial #HLA12126 is truly outstanding and a blue chip investment!

The prototype Lamborghini Countach LP 500 was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland on March 11th, 1971. The Lamborghini Countach was produced over a 17 year period from 1973 to 1990. A total of 1,997 Lamborghini Countach models were produced which included the LP 400, LP 400 S, LP 500 S, 5000 QV and 25th Anniversary. A total of 630 Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV models were produced. This information was gathered from the Lamborghini Countach book written by Thillainathan Pathmanathan and Anne Christina Reck. Let it be known that different sources confirm different production numbers but there all relatively close. Wikipedia states, of the 610 Lamorghini Countach 5000 QV models produced only 66 of them had fuel injection.
This car was manufactured in March of 1987 as indicated on the original serial tag indicates. As the Car Fax report indicates this car spent its first couple of years in Ontario, Canada. On October 23rd, 1989 a new owner from Pompano Beach, FL was reported with 6,552 kilometers (4,071 miles) on the odometer. It appears this owner then titled the car in Denver, North Carolina on December 21st, 1989. It was then purchased by a dealership on June 28th, 2016 with 7,220 kilometers (4,486 miles) on the odometer. The dealership then sold the car at auction on March 6th, 2017 with 7,235 kilometers (4,496 miles) on the odometer. It was then offered for sale by another dealer on August 20th, 2021. MS CLASSIC CARS purchased the car from this dealership on December 23, 2021 after a professional inspection was completed. From the information gathered this car spent many years in a private collection. MS CLASSIC CARS contacted Jeff’s Motorcars and Lamborghini Palm Beach where service work had been completed over the years. Both organizations stated the service was just an oil change and battery replacement. MS CLASSIC CARS immediately sent the car to Lamborghini Long Island in Long Island, New York for a complete service. It was transported on a flatbed trailer by Quality Express Towing who was referred by dealership. It was worked on by a well experienced mechanic named Luigi who has been with the company over 30 years. Luigi said, “It was one of the best he’s ever worked on and driven.” MS CLASSIC CARS invested a total of $ 7,821.85 which is documented with an invoice that’s included. Once it was completed MS CLASSIC CARS immediately had the car shipped to Seekonk, Massachusetts. It was transported enclosed by Plycar Automotive Logistics who is one of the best in the field. MS CLASSIC CARS immediately started the detail process. The entire vehicle was detailed to the highest level. The factory undercoating was freshened up. The car truly looks spectacular and runs amazing!

The exterior is absolutely gorgeous with its unique design. It’s truly like a piece of rolling artwork. The Countach was designed by Bertone’s Marcello Gandini with angular wedge-shaped styling and scissor doors. The car features a Marchesi tubular steel space frame under aluminum bodywork as well as NACA ducts aft of the doors and air intakes above the rear quarters. The 5000 QV variant utilizes Kevlar front and rear deck lids. It’s believed that this car retains its original Rosso Siviglia (Seville Red) paint. The paint has very minimal imperfections and touch up marks throughout. The paint was recently detailed to a show quality shine and appears wet. It truly looks amazing especially considering its 35 years old. It retains all of its original Sicursiv glass which is in excellent condition. It also retains its original Vitaloni mirrors, Bologna headlight plastic covers, Carello fog lights, Seima marker lense lights and Carello tail lense lights. The car sits on its original 15”cast aluminum OZ wheels which are a Countach hallmark. The wheels are wrapped with new Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires that are 225-50-VR15 on the front and 345-35-VR15 on the rear which is factory correct specifications. The original Pirelli P7 tires that were removed are included. According to the DOT dates the front tires were manufactured on the 25th and 44th week of 1986. The rear tires were manufactured on the 13th and 18th week of 1988. With that being said, the original rear tires must have been replaced under warranty or changed during the first year of ownership. A list of all exterior part numbers and photos are included in the photo gallery. An exterior presentation video is also included.

The original Senape (Mustard) leather interior is in beautiful condition throughout. It’s surprisingly spacious and comfortable with all things considered. Bruno Paratelli, the famed leather upholsterer from Vigarano Pieve, has been responsible for dressing the cockpit of the 1971 LP 500 prototype. He was also instrumental in guiding and advising Lamborghini on the upholstering of the production cars. While some of the leather work was outsourced, much of it and other trim work took place in-house. Upholstering each Countach consumed about 21 square meters of the finest-quality full-grain hide and took about 130 man hours. The doors open and close very nicely unlike some other examples. The windows also roll up and down very nicely. The door sill and bucket seats show little to no wear as most other examples do. The entire dash is in excellent condition including all the gauges. The underneath of the entire dash is also in excellent condition. The steering wheel, door panels, center console, shifter, pedals and carpeting are also in excellent condition. The entire interior is reflective of a vehicle that has 7,285 original kilometers (4,527 miles) and that has been properly taken care of. Everything in the interior is in working order with exception of the drivers remote mirror switch. Some of the working features include the interior light, headlights, turn signals, horn, dash lights, windshield wiper, clock, Alpine stereo, power antenna, air conditioning, etc. It even retains the original floor mats with Velcro strips. The front storage compartment is home to the original spare OZ Lamborghini stamped wheel with Michelin 105R 18 tire. It’s very clean and virtually untouched. The rear storage compartment is fully carpeted and in excellent condition. Please note the original tool kit is no longer with the vehicle.

The engine compartment is nicely detailed throughout and virtually untouched. The backside of the engine cover retains the original factory stickers. The car is powered by the original fuel injected 5.2L V12 engine that produced 420HP @7,500 rpm and 340lb-ft @5,000rpm. The redesigned Quattrovalvole heads offered 4 valves per cylinder. Multi-valve engines can offer better breathing, a higher rev limit and greater power than their two-valves per cylinder counterparts. Cars built between 1986-1988 that employed this engine carried the internal Sant’Agata designation “Countach Iniezione.” This is one of only 66, 5000 QV models that had factory installed Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. The engine runs beautiful and sounds sweet out the factory exhaust system. The engine is coupled to the 5-speed manual transmission and limited slip rear differential. The clutch has plenty of travel and is smooth to operate. The transmission shifts nicely through all the gears.
The undercarriage is also nicely detailed throughout and virtually untoched. The fiberglass floors were undercoated from the factory and recently freshened. The top section of the floors was left raw like it was at the factory. Many of the suspension and braking components still retain the original factory paint marks. Unlike most examples this car is very clean underneath with no signs of oxidation or damage. Unlike most examples this car is also very dry underneath.

This is a great opportunity to purchase a wonderful example of one of the most iconic supercars of all time. This is truly a blue chip investment!

Never seen it around, but I don’t get out much.

What classic car storage place are you referring to? I’m moving into Iron Gate in May, so if that’s where it is then I’ll be seeing a lot of it.
