Looks like Goodyear did not agree with the previous Cooper position on the potential liability. The equity value of Cooper is estimated at $2.8 billion for the purchase.

Since we daily drive our classics, the neat looking radial tires that look like bias just simply aren't an option for us. Way too expensive for something I have to replace on a regular basis on multiple cars. Besides, they still don't make the correct Z/28 tire yet anyway and after talking to them I'm not sure they are all that interested in doing so.

I stick with 15" tires on the classics so I run primarily BFG's and have absolutely no issues with them. I have also used Cooper and they are fine as well. I also like Mickey Thompson which has several choices for 15" tires.

Hopefully the Coopers don't go away because I was looking at buying another set for the Nomad. If they were renamed with the Goodyear logo that would be okay too.
