Default fan/Eaton clutch ID and wiw

Just pulled a unstamped fan (Hayes-Albion) out of my brothers shop. It has a bad rattle can spray job on it but looks strait and has a 69 style Eaton clutch on it. Looks like it might be a short shaft big block version (not sure). I don't want to clean it up too much in case there are stampings underneath the paint. what should I be looking for? There are no dates on the shaft or hub or any "this side up" markings. Thanks for any help!

Scott

Thanks for the offer Fred!

I got directed to the cooling chart at CRG. It had some good info on what the stampings are and where they are located.

I took a chance and gently removed some paint with my fingernail. Not expecting to find anything, I was totally shocked to see the original ink stamps.

Looks like an assembly line 396/375 or 427/425 fan and clutch by the info at CRG. Sound correct?

If J was 69, than I would be 68?

K would be month (October) 28 day of I 1968 is the way I read it on CRG. I may be wrong though. Experts please chime in.

That clutch, if correct date is Oct. of 68, would be perfect for my October built 69 Post sedan SS396.

If I was 68 and J was 69, it follows that K would most likely be 70.
