Default Heater Hose or Heater Core?

Took the Camaro out today with my Son for about 20 mins. The car ran great (after it warms up), but when we got it back in the garage my Son asked me what the “noise” was. Popped the hood and saw steam at the back of the engine bay. Coolant was dripping from the lower hose and also beneath the pass side floors - couldn’t tell if it was dripping from as it was under my lift and too tight to crawl under while hot. Felt the passenger carpet and, yep, it was wet. So, it’s either a bad core or the hose leaked into the heater box? Anyone ever experienced a hose leaking into the car?

I was hoping you weren’t going to say that! I think I’ll bypass it for now and fix it next year.

Yeah, the only way it ISN'T the heater core is if a clamp is loose and water squirts past the foam and into the box. If your clamps aren't loose, you need a heater core.

Thanks Lynn. I’ll tighten the clamp tomorrow, but I am guessing it is the heater core. I haven’t done one of those since high school!
