Default 69 Douglas Yenko and Mecum Indy

Did anybody look at the 69 Douglas Yenko that was at Mecum Indy? It appears to be one of the May cars that went directly to Jack Douglas. According to the writeup it is a fresh restoration and was a no sale at $250K. I thought this was N616074 with a fresh restoration, but it appears to be one of the 05D cars. Does anyone know the VIN on this car?

Thanks,
Myron

The writeup makes it sound like it is one of the cars that was shipped to Yenko and then to Jack Douglas. However, from looking at the photos it appears to be one of the 05D cars that Jack Douglas ordered directly from Chevrolet. It has the in dash tach like the later cars and the exterior emblem arrangement is different from the Yenko delivered cars. I think this is either N649169 or N649233. I just want to label my notes correctly for future reference.

Thanks,
Myron

I was at the auction; it's N649158.

N616074 was in the same collection with ZL1 #4 for 30 years. Did some work on it, should you have any questions.

Thanks for the info William. I don't see N649158 in the registry so is this a new find? Does anybody know the story behind it? I believe that Jack Douglas ordered at least 20 COPO Camaros direct from Chevrolet in May so this makes 10 that I know of.

Not that new; was located in 2010. Had a Jack Douglass cert displayed. I notified Bergy and he will update soon.

Thanks for all you do! Have enjoyed your photos.
