Default 68 Z28 alternator

I was a little to strong and stripped the threads out on my 68 Z alt.adjusting tang. Whats the best way to fix this so I can retain my original alternator. Thanks

You have 2 options. 1st and easiest way is to insert a Heli-Coil thread repair. Very strong and if done properly, hard to detect.
2nd option is to tig weld up the hole and retap. This is a lot tougher as these alternator cases are very porous castings. Again if done properly undetectable.
Hope this helps, Chris

Thanks Chris I will try heli-coil. I am just wanting to be able to keep the original alt. with the car as it is original. Thanks
