Default Safest rust remover and rubber

Anyone use Safest Rust Remover on motor mounts or exhaust hangers? Just wondering what the effect on the rubber part was.

I did not appear to harm it at all. I've got a dunk tank of it and it's a great product.

Great stuff. It won't do anything to rubber.

It wont hurt paint (but if it's rusty underneath the paint, when the rust dissoves, the paint falls off)

It will remove zinc and cad plating, as well as blueing on gun parts.

And it will remove lightly painted paint,on very shiney surfaces.
I had four clean metal 1qt.oil cans, but with rusty tops.
I poured this stuff on their metal tops, and let em soak overnight.
In the AM,I had a few drips running down their sides.
The advertising paint under those drips was all eaten away.
I contacted the vendor, and he said if you read the instructions,it says will remove some paints from some clean surfaces too.
Best to do a test first, and maybe not let it soak as long as you think, but still a great product.

Thanks for the replies. I'll give it a try. I was just a little concerned about having it eat the rubber parts.

Reminds me of the old SNL fake commercial for "SHIMMER".

It's a floor wax...No, it's a desert topping!
