Default Ordering a New Corvette?

Supposedly, Chevy dealers are now taking orders for the 2024 Z06 as of today.

In about a month they will start taking orders for the Eray, which is actually slightly quicker to 60 (2.5 vs 2.6). HP is almost the same with the Z06 having 15 more, but the Eray being able to use more because the electric motor drives the front wheels.

Obviously, neither is a slug. The Z06 still has that AMAZING flat plane crank V8 sound that the Eray will not have.

First decision will be which one.

Either way, I was hoping for some input on pre orders and if there are ANY dealers that will sell for MSRP (or "sticker" price as I don't think MSRP includes gas guzzler tax or whatever).

Any insights?

Local Chevy dealer quoted:

$10k non refundable deposit for a Z06. Fine with that.

Wait time of 3-5 years. Ouch!

$45k OVER sticker. Not fine with that.

They can't take deposits on the Eray until late August. Not sure of the wait time or the mark up (excuse me.... market adjustment).

Guess this memo did not scare any of the dealers.

So, I guess print that article and bring it with you when you go to purchase a new C8 'Vette. See what happens.

WAIT... they want a 10k non refundable deposit on a 2024 car that you will then need to wait 3-5 YEARS to get ??? Or is that for the ev model ? Which still is no longer a 2024 model...

The 3-5 year wait is for a Z06, so I assume it just rolls over the next year. Once I heard $45k "market adjustment" and 3-5 wait, I didn't stick around to figure out the details.

Lots of dealers (or the reps) on line putting in print that they don't care what GM says, they can charge what they want, because the "S" in MSRP stands for "suggested". Apparently there are no repercussions to thumbing your nose at GM.

Order from MacMulkin Chevrolet in NH. They sell at MSRP but you will be on a wait list.

I already contacted MacMulkin, and already received the packet.
