Default GM COPO Sway Bar Bracket or Not

Why are these two sway bar brackets different. The one on the left I took off a 69 COPO Camaro. The one on the right I had on the shelf, I assume taken off a Camaro from a previous restoration. I don't think it's a repop but I may be wrong. The one I took off the COPO has a little more rust damage than I like to see so I was considering using the one I had on the shelf but then I saw the hole.? Could they both be GM, why the hole. Any comments would be very helpful.

From what i know.........I have seem the one with the hole on the side as a current GM style - sold as NOS, but they have the hole. You see these on ebay all the time)

The one on the left (without the hole) looks orig GM, period correct.

From my understandings, in late 1970 GM changed over to the ones with the hole which is what is available today. So much for being able to buy the non holed ones cheap anymore....

The brackets for our COPO Chevelle have no holes. End of July build date.

Inline Tube was at the ACES Ohio Chevelle show last week, and they sell a repro bracket with no hole. I picked up a set for my 68 Chevelle for 15 bucks. They have 2 choices of plating/grey phos or nickel.
