The dealer selling it bought it on Bring a Trailer.

That's also the back-side of the tag, with the picture reversed so you could read it.

My original comment did not get posted, but as a repeat poster now, the one I left just now did go live. I wonder how long before it gets banned......

The original auction didn’t have any comments about the tag issues, interesting.

I could not find where he bought it, but did find where he already sold it on BAT once back in June of 2021 -- https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...t-malibu-ss-8/

Wonder if the buyer in that auction couldn't get it titled and this guy had to take it back and give the guy his money back? I sure hope so!

The serial commenter who doesn't like "forum people" posted this after the auction ended:

"Congratulations to all of the forum jacka$$es"

I clicked the 'Flag as not constructive' button. BAT did not remove his comment. What a crock.

Or I guess he could have been congratulating himself, which would be fitting!

Yeah, a bit confusing. The most recent ad states that "The car was acquired by the current owner on BaT in June 2021 and subsequent work is said to have included ...."

But, the seller's name is the same in both auctions. You have to wonder if the buyer in the 2021 auction returned the car because he could not get it titled.

Baddington24 was the buyer in 2021. He clearly is not the seller in this one.

Really fishy.

I do not see a picture of the screwy VIN tag in the auction from last June. I thought BaT required that picture. That is why it was not commented on by us "forum Jacka$$es" last time. I tried to post to this latest auction, but they reviewed it and didn't even post it. BaT is so full of clones and restamp crap it's pathetic. And all those idiots sitting in their basement commenting on and defending every car that is in question have probably never owned a muscle car in their life.

Just FWIW, was a console standard equipment on a 65 Malibu SS? I know years ago I saw a very original appearing 64 Impala SS 6 cyl with 3 speed manual column shift and it had a console with a block-off plate where a shifter could have been.
