Thanks Graeme! I know, I am getting pretty wimpy in my old age. My Son just built a gym in the basement, so maybe it’s time to hit the weights!
Who did you buy your tires from? Is there a Canadian supplier?

Summit Racing or Jegs when they have their sales on. Right now, Jegs is 301.00 a tire but they have their sale on top of that. https://www.jegs.com/i/Coker-Tire/257/62490/10002/-1
Summit will match the advertised price if you call and ask for price match c/w discount and they also offer free shipping into Canada now. Jegs might have free shipping too? Ask and always pit them against each other and you'll win.

You can go that route or you can go with the Goodyear Steelgard Tires that were OE on the ‘73-77 Corvette. Give me a call, as I can get any reproduction tire on the market. My cell is 816-654-3400.

Jegs has a $100 off $1,299 purchase. So I think $301 doesn't quite hit that ($1204) without some other stuff in the cart, but they have $10 off $299, $20 off $499, and $30 of $699.
Free shipping. You could do four separate orders of one tire to get the $10 off $299 (total of $40 off) but they will probably hit you with 4 separate "handling charges" (EDIT: I just checked and no handling charges, so it might work to do 4 separate orders) Summit will match their discount if you call them to order instead of online. I bought that set from Rusty for my 73 SD455 and they were very nice (and correct for the year, too)

Rusty, is a great guy to deal with, and provides impeccable service. BTW he is also a sponsor on the site and encourage all our members to speak with him before buying reproduction tires!!

I also vote for power steering, but I’ll go farther and suggest adding a Borgeson integral unit to avoid those leaky rams and numb feel. Then challenge yourself to make it look as “correct” as possible. A Ford collector I know (Mustangs and Fairlanes use same type of godawful factory power assist) has been doing this for the last couple of years. His cars drive awesome, don’t leak, and 95% of the people looking under the hood don’t notice anything amiss, and these are concours stock detailed under there.
