Mickey Thompson Valve Covers & Breathers - History
These are a set of finned aluminum Mickey Thompson Big Block Chevy Valve Covers with a set of the extremely rare M/T long breathers installed on them. These are the early versions with "427" cast into the logo. This VERY particular set of valve covers has the neat distinction of having been used on the Jim Kirby/Dick Harrell Camaro Funny Car in the late Sixties and then used on the ex-Braun Bros. 1955 Chevy C/Gasser. They were used on the Kirby Funny Car in its' early Injected days. They are a small piece of drag racing history. They are not perfect with a few small nicks on the fins but they do qualify as very nice with no cracks or weld repairs. The drippers appear to have been removed with a rotary file sometime in their life. They would make a great addition to a Day Two Supercar or Drag Car restoration. $450 + shipping. Thanks SYC!
