'58 Eldorado Brougham
Hard to top this.
I worked in the Cadillac Design Studio for a few years and we still talked about this car as an example of what could be done when you unite the organization to develop a true halo vehicle and empower the team to do whatever it takes to make it the best in the world. I like the two door 57 Eldo Seville and Eldo Biarritz better. Just a bit cleaner on the lines.
Passed up a solid 57 Seville about 20 years ago at $4500. Probably should have pulled the trigger. But then my memory is littered with about 100 cars I SHOULD have purchased for the money; all of the ones that have escalated something fierce.

----Bought one out of a Ft. Liquerdale back yard in the early 70's. Had no idea what I was doing. Bumpers are cast aluminum chrome plated. The one I bought basically only had the chrome plating left. Aluminum was mostly gone. Air suspension was wasted and it ran really poorly. I sold it as I had no idea how to fix any of it and no money to do it anyway...….Bill S

I have a nice 1/18 version of the exact car for sale. Same colors, etc. Larry Watson, the SoCal painter, did one up back in about 1960.

----Its funny, Tony, but the interior of that Caddy was in pretty good condition compared to the outside. The only damage in there was the "mouse fur" carpeting. I was so dumb back then I didn't even look at the underside. Of course it was lying down because the air suspension was totally shot, but I thought I could manage that. I was wrong!...….Bill S

My Father had a ‘57, so I learned about these coach/hand built Caddy’s very early on. Very historically significant Milestone Cars with many industry leading enhancements and options.
It has been reported that GM lost approx $10,000.00 on each one sold and that was a bunch in 1957. Maissano went to check one out in Long Beach and yes I should have picked that one up. https://www.hemmings.com/magazine/hc...m/1281441.html I still have a set of the original Vanities which belonged to Dad’s car, as it was burned/totaled in a shop fire.
