Default Inspecting/Shipping car Boston-to-Toronto

An old friend of mine in Toronto is considering a 1979 Camaro located in Melrose MA (i.e. appears to be 8-10mi north of Boston). I found the car on their local craigslist.

She's leery of buying the car sight unseen and the online car shipping quote she got was just shy of $2K, which is 1/3 of the car's asking price.

I'm willing to throw a few bucks someone's way to inspect the car and we're open to suggestions as to how to get the car shipped in a cost-effective way.

Any ideas/volunteers?

Many 2nd Gen Boston area Camaro enthusiasts on www.nastyz28.com
Suggest you place notice in B.S. or Camaro questions section for "Boston help"

Ask her to get a quote from Oakwood Transport in Ingelsoll. They will probably closer to 1K. 519-485-4851

Thanks guys. Great ideas. I think I'll suggest to her that she ask the seller to take the car to a professional mechanic for a buyer's inspection on her behalf.

Hylton, Ingersoll quoted $750 CDN. Woo hoo. Thanks for the tip.

I found a mechanic in the seller's neighbourhood who offered to do a buyer's inspection for a more than reasonable fee. We're all set there too.

Hi Mark. We'll be at my sister's near St-Sauveur the weekend of August 18 and bumming around Montreal for a week or so afterwards. When's the swap meet?
