IS number 8 dated 9th day of 1970 or 90th day of 71?
There seems to be a number missing making it difficult for me to determine.

Good original white fans are getting scarce. Save the one off of the 197 set, as it should not be used that late.

Just to help out
-0901S would be 1970 90th Day (March 31) 1st Shift Saginaw Plant

Notice many of your pumps have that same 1st shift code.
Cheers.

The smog pumps I have had are dated the following manner
first 3 digits - the day of the year numerically beginning with 001- next digit is the last of the year - then shift number - then plant alpha.

09011S would be 90th say of 71 1st shift
09001S would be 90th day of 70 1st shift

OFTEN the stamp is cocked and the numbers trail off leaving the first number as a VERY LIGHT impression. I have seen this enough times to know it is a pretty common occurrence.

OK, pulled the pumps out today
So when I re ran the ad in February
I had forgot that the #4 pump had been sold back in January.
Very sorry about that.
The #8 pump is stamped as printed
“0901S”
I believe there is a # missing in the front of the date.
So, this could be
“00901 or Jan 9th of 1970,
10901 or 19th day of April or
20901 or July 28 of 1970
What ever that first number is I can’t say for sure
This is how it was found
Text me and I will try to get you the best pics I can

Joe - is there any way to figure it could be a 3 or is the first digit completely missing?

30901S, being just under, 4 months prior to production would work for me.

Yes it very well could be
The best way would be to pop the white fan off
and check the casting date under the fan.
But I really don’t want to hurt the fan
I’ll see what I can do if that helps.
