Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
Ken.....I really think you need to send Guido and the boys to pay this schmuck a little visit!!! He'll never get to the bank without his knee caps I too look forward to watching this build....you are such a craftsman and this car, like all of your other ones, will be perfect in the end!!! Good luck with the project my friend!

Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
One of the major issues in installing a LS engine in a 66 "B" body is the oil pan, the 66 has the steering behind the crossmember and causes some major pan modifications to a stock factory rear sump pan.....The GTO pan is a front sump so it needed to be changed anyway.....So....Holley just came out with a pan that is supposed to make everything fit so I went ahead and ordered one and it showed up today.....Christmas in July...
I'll get it put on in a day or two and should be test fitting the engine into the Impala next week...Here we go!!

The exhaust manifolds are another issue....so...I was reading that the 2010-11 Camaro manifolds would fit with lots of clearance.......They showed up also......Lot's "O" Stuff showing up.......

Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
Took the pan down to the shop today and switched the pan and hardware..........The only problem was that the bracket that holds the pick-up tube in place was not formed correctly and there were some clearance issues with the windage tray......the instructions shown how to modify the windage tray to suit.....but.....it would have been easier for Holley to do their job correctly and just form the bracket with a tighter radius so it would clear.....anyhow we cut and welded the bracket to suit........much easier.....just a minor glitch....after that it was a 5 minute job.....I also picked up a NOS "Made In America" original GM fender.....I almost don't want to put it on the car it's so nice.....Thanks to Jon Krogh

</div></div> Jon is certainly a great resource to have when working on a late 60's full size Chevy....and he's a hop, skip, & a jump away from you!
